Windows 10 System Beep

Posted on

Since using Windows 7 RC, Thunderbird no longer beeps using the system speaker on the motherboard. I dearly would like to re-enable this beep but can find no way to do so. It cannot be done from the sound scheme, all you can do is choose a wav file to play to notify of a new email, but I want the beep because I like it better and it is much more convenient. Really the computer sound card is used for so many other things and so is the amp the computer is connected to that to play notifications through it would be very inconvenient since the volume might be too high or too low and also I might be using the amp for another input besides the computer so wouldn't hear anything. Thunderbird does not allow me to choose to have a system beep as the notification, and neither does the windows sound scheme.

  3. Enable Beep Windows 10

On Vista I had 'No Sounds' in the sound scheme and Thunderbird always used the system beep, but since changing to Windows 7 there is no beep anymore and I would like to re-enable it. Thanks if anyone has any idea about how to do this.

Hi, Just recently I have been getting 2 system beeps (not windows sound) at random times when I am using Windows 10, sometimes waking after sleeping. I set an alarm on aida64 and got a warning when the CPU temp went above 65C even though the laptop was basically idle. Can anyone confirm that 2 beeps are due overheating. Since then I have been gaming on windows 7 and also using windows 8. Aug 18, 2015  Check if you still come across the Beep sound. Method 2: Run the System Maintenance troubleshooter and check the status. 1.Open Control Panel. 2.Click on ‘search’ and type ‘Troubleshooting’ and select ‘Troubleshooting’. 3.On the left pane click 'View all' and then click 'System Maintenance' and run the troubleshooter.

My Acer nitro 5 laptop makes annoying beep sound upon charger switch on/off. How can i disable it?

Enable Beep Windows 10

I couldn't find it in BIOS settings. The device manager doesn't list any system beep option either that I can switch on or off.I tried the registry method. I set the value to no from yes of this beep key located at HKEYCURRENTUSERControl PanelSound.Still no resolution.I have an Acer Aspire One. It too beeps when the charger is connected/disconnected. It does it even when in the BIOS settings so has nothing to do with Windows. There is no BIOS setting to disable it, so I just have to put up with it. Just seems to be the way Acer like to do things.
