The very next day (after a restart) I began to have difficulties sharing the internet, so I took a look at the settings and saw that sharing wasn’t enabled. Should be easy – simply enable sharing and select the hosted network, right? The problem is every time I try to enable sharing and select the created hosted network, the properties window freezes as does explorer. I have to close the app COM Surrogate and restart Windows Explorer every time I try this, and the settings are never applied.

Anyone ever do this without an actual internet connection? I have a product that needs a hotspot when users do not have an internet or other network connection at all. I’ve set up the Loopback adapter and it seems solid with two iDevices connected to it. Once we start introducing other devices, it all goes haywire. Sometimes connecting and assigning an IP right away, then dropping after a minute, or never giving an IP to the device.
Have tried setting the WiFi Mode on the adapter to “Wifi” and it seems like we can get more devices to work, but not even cose to the 100 clients that the hostednetwork claims it can handle.
